Samoyeds take the spotlight in shows where Samoyeds are judged by their physical characteristics to determine which most closely match the ideal Samoyed breed standard.

The two types of showing are:

Conformation, in which adult Samoyeds are judged based on how well they “conform” to the breed standard.

Futurity, in which Samoyed litters (or individual puppies) are judged based on how well they represent the future of the breed.
